School has been busy lately, but really fun at the same time. I'm in a couple game design classes (Game modeling and animation, Game design and game play) where we have been using the Unity engine to put together some rough levels. I like it a lot so far.
My wife has demanded that I post one of my recent projects on here. It's for my Materials and Lighting class. The instructor gave everyone a model of a fruit bowl sitting in a corner to start with and told us to texture the object to match a reference picture. pic. Somehow, the directions I heard where 'just make it look awesome'... so that's what I attempted to do.
Here is what we started out with:

And here's what I ended up with:

I like hearing comments about my work, especially from people who have done similar projects. Feel free to be knit picky too, I can't improve flaws that never get pointed out.
Before I end this post I want to throw a little shout out to the Gamerologist over at Super Gamerology. I spied his blog over his shoulder in a class and it inspired me to pick this back up. He and his growing team write game reviews and rant about the nerd kingdom we share, and I approve of that.
